The color of the hair is exactly like the picture and it holds curls really well: I got 26 inches and 13X4 lace since I wanted to do a half up-half down hairstyle. 20Avg I have to say I was very pleased with the quality of the unit. I washed and conditioned the hair before installing. It did not have a bad chemical smell like most units I've come across. There was minimum to little shedding of the hair. The hair color is also very wonderful, looks very good, very soft, highliy recommended
